Coffman Football opened their season at home at Hendrix-Staggs stadium against Whitthorne on Thursday falling to the Tigers 14-7.
Coffman started out the game on fire making several big plays including an 82-yard Touchdown scored by Kason Driver.
The Panthers struggled on defense allowing 177 total yards. Caleb Young led the team in tackles with 10 while Kason Driver was right behind him with seven tackles.
Bentley Tatum was the lone player with an Interception for the Panthers while having 2 tackles.
The Panthers also had a tough time offensively as well against the Tigers.
Leading the team in rushing for the Panthers was Will Jones who had 34 yards off 11 carries followed by Chasten Edmiston with 16 carries for 11 yards.
Edmiston went three of six for 116 yards including one touchdown. Driver had all three receptions going for 116 yards and a touchdown for the Panthers offense.
The Panthers will be back in action again on Saturday in the Collinwood Jamboree (JV only). Coffman will be back in regular season play on the road on August 20th taking on Bridgeforth Bobcats.
