Former Summertown Eagle Brady Brown has signed to play basketball in overseas leagues.

Brown started to fall in love with the game of basketball in middle school where he had his best game against E.O. Coffman.

“I had one good game against Coffman and that sparked my interest and love for basketball,” Brown said.

Brown graduated from Summertown High School in 2019 where during his career he reached 1,000 points.

After high school, Brown signed with The University of Tennessee Southern where he was a promising piece of the program’s future.

Brown’s freshman year saw him appear in 24 out of 31 games where he averaged 2.9 points that season showing promise going into his sophomore year.

Brown’s junior year saw him set a career-high in points scored in a game where he dropped 28 points against #18 Georgetown College. He was named to the 2nd team all-conference that season for the first time in his collegiate career.

During his senior Brown would have the best season of his career where he averaged 13 points per game and averaging 7.5 rebounds per game. Brown would join the 1,000-point club during the season finale against Lindsey Wilson and would earn 2nd team all-conference again.

Brown decided to return to UT Southern for his fifth and final season and it turned out to be a great decision. The Firehawks would go 27-6 last season where Brown averaged 12 points per game and averaged 6.6 rebounds per game as well.

This season saw him earn his third consecutive 2nd team all-conference selection which impressed many at the next level.

Brown got attention from many scouts during his tryout in Mexico following his UT Southern career.

“I signed up for a showcase in March in Mexico and did well,” Brown said. “I received three offers, two from Mexico and one from Portugal. The deal wasn’t as good as I would like it to be. Of course, I want to play bro basketball, but I want it to make sense to go out there” Brown said.

Brown was invited to another showcase in Las Vegas where a lot of coaches saw promise.

“I did good,” Brown said. “I made a lot of connections and that’s the main thing with pro basketball as a rookie to meet coaches and shake hands with people. Made good connections and played good ball.” Brown said.

“I met this coach out in Vegas, he’s from Slovenia. He went back home and asked around his league and found two teams for me and one took a chance on me.” Brown said.

Brown will play for Rogaska Slatina, Slovenia Basketball Club where he is thrilled to have the opportunity to prove that no matter where you’re from, or the road you take, all you need is hard work and commitment for your talent to be recognized and rewarded.
