The Lady Stallions of South Lawrence traveled to Summertown Monday night to take on a familiar foe.
The game started off slow for both teams, but the Stallions would go on a run lead by Audrey Cotton who had one kill and 2 aces in the game. South Lawrence would quickly take a 15-6 lead before Summertown called their first timeout.
Summertown would come out of the timeout hot and go on a run to shorten the gap. Phoenix Moyer would help the Eagles on the comeback with one block and two kills during the first set.
South Lawrence would win a close first set 25-23.
Summertown jumped to a quick 7-2 lead at the start of the second set forcing South Lawrence to call a timeout.
Alex Rigsby led the charge in the second set with two kills and one ace in the game.
The Lady Stallions would shift the momentum to tie the second set 18-18. Lilly Augustin took over during the run as she had three kills for the Lady Stallions.
Summertown would pull away in a close one to win the second set 25-22.
Macy Pettus and Ava Cornelius led the way for the Eagles with each having four kills and one ace in the game.
Coming down to the wire the Lady Stallions would take a 14-8 lead forcing Summertown to take a timeout.
Shanna Fisher would take over in the third set with one block and three kills in the game as South Lawrence was one point away from the win.
The Lady Eagles would go on a 6-0 run out of the timeout to tie the final set 14-14.
South Lawrence would take its final timeout to halt the Lady Eagles momentum. The Lady Stallions would take the next two points to win the game 16-14.
South Lawrence will be back in action on Thursday against the Lady Rebels of Leoma. Summertown will host Ethridge on Thursday and close out the week against E.O. Coffman on Friday.
